    Generating Competitive Priority Strategy in Transformer Industry

    The transformer market competition in Indonesia is getting more attractive and dynamic. This encourages transformer manufacturers to improve competitiveness, such as quality, cost, timely delivery, and service. Therefore, companies need to understand customer needs and choose the right competition strategy. There are three alternative strategies to compete, cost leadership, differentiation, and focus. This research understands the customer needs and choose the right strategy to face the competition. The design of this study used survey and data collection through questionnaires. Data analysis methods using QFD and AHP combined with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) implementation. QFD analysis results in the form of the house of quality shows two major things: recommendations action for internal improvement and priority contribution value which will be the next input analysis with AHP method. The result of AHP analysis on the priority of contribution value in choosing an alternative strategy shows that the most appropriate strategy is differentiation, with the company focus on its competitive advantage. Practical implications of this research, for the management need to increase production through efficiency and cost reduction.     EXPLANATORY ANALYSIS OF THE SAFETY LEADERSHIP AND SAFETY CLIMATE AT POWER PLANT

    The purpose of this study is to examine and explain the effect of a safety leadership on safety climate in coal fired power plant. The design of this study is a survey and the data collection is cross section through a questionnaire. The unit of analysis is the employee who have experience work with at least 1 year. Mechanical determination of sample units in this study is a simple random sampling. The method of data analysis in hypothesis testing that is the Smart PLS (Partial Least Square). The results of this study indicate that direct safety leadership gives significant effect on safety climate. The practical implications of this research is useful for the management of power plant as they need to increase the role of safety leadership in the effort of increasing the safety climate especially for its communication to employee about Environment Health Safety

On the basis of problems that often occur in Small Medium Enterprise, related the fulfillment of customer satisfaction. This research provide the solution method of the selection criteriabased product development strategy of competitive advantage such as quality, cost, delivery, service, and morale. Method of collecting data with a detailed questionnaire on the Tenun Ikat customers and analysed by using Importance Performance Analysis based on the criteria of customer needs for competitive advantage. The results of this study indicate that the plot from the value of each attribute in a Cartesian diagram that influence customer satisfaction and support in winning market competition

    Technology has become an essential thing in the life of every human being, where technology plays a role in supporting all daily activities. This condition impacts children in their infancy or who are sitting in school. The utilization of information technology is seen as not optimal because they prefer to play games and social media rather than explore new knowledge and information, which is very necessary for their educational process. The explanation of the problems above is our reason for holding a literacy program in Tebel Village with children as the primary target. The children who live around the village tend to choose to play with their gadgets rather than read books. Lack of supervision from parents and the influence of the playing environment are some of the contributing factors. The activities increase interest in reading among children through a micro-library program located on the riverbank of Tebel Village. The results of this study were quite successful because more or fewer children had read books. At least, they were a little distracted from the influence of gadgets that had become a part of children’s lives at this time

    MEASURING THE PERFORMANCE OF XYZ GOVERNMENT AGENCY WITH THE BASIS OF MALCOLM BALDRIGE METHOD

    Government agency is collective designation which includes work unit and organizational unit of ministries or departments, non-departmental government institution, secretariat of state high institution, and other central and regional government agencies; including state-owned enterprises, state-owned legal entities, and regional-owned enterprises. One of the very effective models in improving the quality of performance of an agency is by using the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. This research was conducted with the aim of: 1) measuring the performance of XYZ Government Agency so that their performance consistency can be monitored and 2) finding out the opportunities and obstacles in measuring the performance of XYZ Government Agency by using the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award (MBNQA) criteria. The type of this research is descriptive research that uses XYZ Government Agency as the research object. The measurement conducted in this research applies the Malcolm Baldrige method. The findings showed that the criteria with the highest percentage score is operation (39.8%) and the lowest percentage score is strategy (35.1%). The total score is 377.5 from a maximum score of 1000 points. It showed that the performance of XYZ Government Agency is at the level of “initial growth” (scale point of 376-475

    Implementation of good governance of bureaucracy system of Surabaya City Government, one of them with developed performance-based salary program ( e-performance ) dedicated specially to Civil Servant. But in reality agencies in Surabaya do not have the full use of civil servants as their human resources, thus involving contractors as supporters of government performance processes. The purpose of this study is to determine key performance indicators(KPI) and strategic objectives in XYZ Institution, determine the importance of each KPI criterion, to understand the performance of each contractor at XYZ Government Agency and provide improvement recommendations from the current employee performance. The unit of analysis of this research is carried out at the General Section in the Sub Division of Administration with the administrative position as the administrative contractor. The design of this study used a survey with questionnaire data collection techniques and questionnaires. The method used is personal balanced scorecard by formulating strategic targets and KPI by stakeholders from XYZ Agency. Weighting method using Analytic Network Process method(ANP). From the research results obtained: the formulation of KPI and Strategy Target has been formed with the highest level of KPI weight is KPI Total Late (0.1532). Total performance of the best contractor performance is Mr. C (6.253) while the smallest total performance achievement is obtained Mr. K ie (3.346). Recommendations include: Provide rewards, provide coaching, conduct regular control and evaluation systems, provide socialization and provide slogans in the corner of the room on performance improvement

    Impact of Outbound Training in Organization Mission Statement: A Managerial Implication

    This paper analyzes whether the purpose of outbound training can be a decisive factor that can have a significant impact on the achievement of an organization's mission statement. In this paper, Structural Equation Modeling - Generalized Structural Component Analysis (SEM-GSCA) will be used in the study to test the hypothesis of objective influence scientifically and also internally on the mission of the organization. MMT-ITS as postgraduate program in ITS-Surabaya has been selected as an example of an organization case to explore the effectiveness of outbound training programs in achieving organizational mission. The results of the analysis show that the objectives scientifically and internally from the outbound training activities will directly affect the achievement of the organization's mission. It was also found that the scientific objectives of outbound training activities can influence the mission statement of the organization better than the internal objectives of the outbound training activities

    How to increase customer satisfaction of Mujair Fish Crackers with the IPA-KANO method

    This study aims to analyze consumer satisfaction with the IPA-KANO method. This research uses quantitative research where data collection techniques using questionnaire. The respondents used in this study were 100 consumers of processed mujair fish cracker products CV. SARIRAM. The data analysis technique used in this research is the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method and Kano is then converted using SPSS. The results of the integration of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and the Kano model show that there are 12 attributes that fall into the category to be maintained and the remaining 8 attributes that need attention to improve their performance to increase customer satisfaction.Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepuasan konsumen dengan metode IPA-KANO. Menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dimana teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Responden sebanyak 100 konsumen produk kerupuk olahan ikan mujair CV. SARIRAM. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) dan Kano kemudian dikonversikan dengan menggunakan software statistik SPSS versi 22.0. Hasil dari integrasi Importance performance Analysis (IPA) dan model kano memberikan hasil bahwa terdapat 3 atribut yang ditingkatkan, 11 atribut masuk dalam kategori untuk dipertahankan dan sisanya sebanyak 6 atribut merupakan atribut yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian untuk ditingkatkan kinerjanya untuk meningkatkan kepuasan konsumen
